What we collect
Information you give us. When you fill in a form on one of our pages, request a quote, book a consultation, or contact us by phone or email, we collect the information you provide. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property, and details about the project you are considering, such as the type of house, the size of the yard, your intended use, your timeline and your budget range.
We only ask for information we need in order to respond to you properly. You are never required to give us a budget or a timeline to receive a reply.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our pages record basic technical information when you visit, including your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the website or advertisement you arrived from.
Why we collect it
We use the information you give us to:
- reply to your enquiry
- assess whether a project is feasible on your property
- prepare a preliminary assessment, budget range, quotation or proposal
- arrange and attend a site visit
- manage a project if you go ahead with us
- follow up on an enquiry you have not responded to
We use the automatic information to understand how our pages perform, to fix problems, and to measure whether our advertising is working.
Advertising and analytics
We advertise on Meta platforms, which include Facebook and Instagram, and we may advertise through Google. To measure whether those advertisements lead to enquiries, our pages use tracking tools provided by those companies, including the Meta pixel. We also use Google Analytics to understand general website traffic.
These tools tell us that a visitor arrived from a particular advertisement and whether they completed a form. They allow us to show advertisements to people who have visited our pages before. They do not tell us the identity of individual visitors who have not contacted us.
You can limit this tracking through your browser settings, through your advertising preferences on Facebook, Instagram and Google, or by using a browser that blocks tracking scripts.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not give it to anyone for their own marketing.
We share it only where it is needed to do the work:
- Service providers. Our forms are processed by Formspree, which delivers submissions to our email. We use standard business software for email, scheduling, project management and accounting. These providers hold information on our behalf and some of them store data outside Canada, which means it may be subject to the laws of the country where it is stored.
- Our team. Employees and project staff who need it to respond to you or run your project.
- Subcontractors and consultants. If you become a client, we may share the project address and relevant project details with the trades, designers, architects or engineers working on your project. We share only what they need.
- Where the law requires it. For example, in response to a valid legal request.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for up to two years from your last contact with us, so that we can pick up a conversation if you come back to us later. If you become a client, we keep project records for as long as we are required to for tax, warranty, insurance and construction record purposes.
You can ask us to delete your information earlier. See below.
How we protect it
We limit access to your information to the people who need it, and we use reputable service providers with their own security measures. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Your choices
You can:
- ask us what personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to stop contacting you
Email info@905reno.ca with your request and we will respond within a reasonable time. There is no cost, and asking will not affect how we deal with you.
Children
Our services are directed at property owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
